PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
This is the final step of your journey to becoming a PADI Open Water Instructor. Upon completion of this course, you'll be qualified to lead multiple PADI courses, from Discover to Divemaster. Prerequisites: PADI Divermaster and Assistant Instructor certifications. Must be at least 18 years old with 60 logged dives.

Prerequisites
- PADI Divemaster or PADI Assistant Instructor certification or be an instructor in good standing with another training organization for at least six months (check with a PADI Course Director or PADI Office for qualifying credentials)
- Certified diver status for at least 6 months
- 60 logged dives (including night, deep, and navigation dives)
- Proof of CPR training within the last 24 months
- Medical clearance signed by a physician within the last 12 months
- EFR Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) within the past 24 months
Coursework Overview
Through the IDC program, you will:
- Complete knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
- Practice confined water skills with regular reviews and assessments
- Participate in workshops and presentations, including open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations
- Log at least 100 dives prior to entering a PADI Instructor Exam
